Thirdweb
Thirdweb's
Story
Thirdweb empowers developers, creators, and entrepreneurs to seamlessly build, launch, and manage Web3 projects without the need for extensive coding. Founded in 2021 by Steven Bartlett alongside Furqan Rydhan, former CTO of Bebo and AppLovin, Thirdweb offers an intuitive suite of tools designed to simplify the integration of Web3 features into applications.
The platform supports a multi-chain ecosystem, enabling users to deploy smart contracts across various blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon. Key features include the ability to create and manage NFTs, social tokens, marketplaces for buying and selling tokens, and NFT loot boxes and drops, all through a user-friendly interface.
In its early stages, Thirdweb garnered significant attention, securing $5 million in funding from prominent investors such as Gary Vaynerchuk and Mark Cuban. This investment facilitated the rapid growth of the platform, attracting over 1,000 developers during its early access phase.
By August 2022, Thirdweb had raised an additional €24 million in a Series A funding round, elevating its valuation to over €159 million. This round was led by Haun Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Shopify, and Polygon, reflecting the platform's growing influence in the Web3 space.
Thirdweb's mission is to democratise access to Web3 technologies, enabling a diverse range of users—from individual creators to large enterprises—to participate in the decentralised internet. By providing robust, open-source tools, Thirdweb accelerates the development of blockchain-based applications, fostering innovation and adoption in the rapidly evolving Web3 ecosystem.
