NEW Head of Publishing
FlightStory Books, the new publishing venture launched by Steven Bartlett’s FlightStory, in collaboration with Ebury Publishing, has appointed Rik Ubhi as Head of Publishing.
Rik Ubhi, most recently the founding publisher of Heligo Books – Bonnier Books’ bestselling business, big ideas and smart-thinking imprint – joined the company in September to spearhead the launch and development of Flight Books. Ubhi’s appointment marks a further step in the strategic growth of Flight Studio as it expands into publishing.
With over a decade of publishing experience, Ubhi has a track record in building brands, creating bestsellers and publishing under-represented voices to mainstream success. Across his time at Simon & Schuster UK as marketing manager, Zed Books as co-owner and director, and Bonnier Books as editorial director, he has worked with numerous bestselling and internationally renowned authors. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Freeman of the Stationers’ Company, and is frequently asked to speak on developments within the industry.
At FlightStory Books, Ubhi reports to Georgie Holt, CEO & co-Founder of Flight Story. He is working on books across the full range of self-development and self-improvement, health and wellness, business and biography, smart-thinking and big ideas.
Rik Ubhi comments: I’m thrilled to have joined FlightStory Books as Head of Publishing during this dynamic period of growth and ambition as we build something truly disruptive, distinctive and transformative. It’s incredibly exciting to be able to leverage FlightStory’s cutting-edge, data-driven approach, alongside such a top-tier and talented team, in order to create and amplify content that enriches how readers experience the world. I can’t wait to work with the brilliant authors already on our roster as well as bring more exceptional voices to the list.
